Today's side quests

Ask an older local what this place was like 30 years ago.

Be up and outside before the sun — watch the city wake up.

Borrow or rent a piece of gear from a hostel, library or local hire shop and try an activity you would otherwise need to buy equipment for. Return it clean and intact.

Go bouldering, climbing or scramble up a safe natural rock.

You and one friend you travel with ask a local for a restaurant recommendation. Go together and ask the staff to suggest two dishes within your budget and dietary needs, then compare your favourites.

You and one friend you travel with each write three spontaneous plans on paper. Agree on budget and safety, draw one from each set and do both together today.
